Enantioselective Decarboxylative Arylation of α-Amino Acids via the Merger of Photoredox and Nickel Catalysis.
An asymmetric decarboxylative Csp(3)-Csp(2) cross-coupling has been achieved via the synergistic merger of photoredox and nickel catalysis. This mild, operationally simple protocol transforms a wide variety of naturally abundant α-amino acids and readily available aryl halides into valuable chiral benzylic amines in high enantiomeric excess, thereby producing motifs found in pharmacologically a...
متن کاملα-Arylation/Heteroarylation of Chiral α-Aminomethyltrifluoroborates by Synergistic Iridium Photoredox/Nickel Cross-Coupling Catalysis.
Direct access to complex, enantiopure benzylamine architectures using a synergistic iridium photoredox/nickel cross-coupling dual catalysis strategy has been developed. New C(sp(3))-C(sp(2)) bonds are forged starting from abundant and inexpensive natural amino acids.
متن کاملIron-catalyzed direct α-arylation of α-amino carbonyl compounds with indoles.
A mild and general α-arylation of α-amino carbonyls with indoles catalyzed by Fe(ClO4)3 has been developed. C-H activation is smoothly fulfilled by using TBHP as the oxidant with good yields. Two hydrogen dissociations make this transformation more environmentally benign because of high atom efficiency.
متن کاملDirect α-arylation of ethers through the combination of photoredox-mediated C-H functionalization and the Minisci reaction.
The direct α-arylation of cyclic and acyclic ethers with heteroarenes has been accomplished through the design of a photoredox-mediated CH functionalization pathway. Transiently generated α-oxyalkyl radicals, produced from a variety of widely available ethers through hydrogen atom transfer (HAT), were coupled with a range of electron-deficient heteroarenes in a Minisci-type mechanism. This mil...
متن کاملPalladium-Catalyzed α-Arylation of Benzylic Phosphonates
A new synthetic route to access diarylmethyl phosphonates is presented. The transformation enables the introduction of aromatic groups on benzylic phosphonates via a deprotonative cross-coupling process (DCCP). The Pd(OAc)2/CataCXium A-based catalyst afforded a reaction between benzyl diisopropyl phosphonate derivatives and aryl bromides in good to excellent isolated yields (64-92%).
